New Resident Bags

The “New Neighbor Welcome Baskets” are ready for pick up at the Southtown Planning Center. The neighborhood associations who have already visited have been enthusiastic and extremely appreciative of this new service. Even though rationed, the goodies provided by area businesses have been going fast. Southtown is still accepting promotion materials at counts of 50 to100.

Suggested items are marketing materials such as business cards, coupons, menus, pens, notepads and other items to promote your business. Contact the Southtown Planning Center if you would like to provide some materials and get your name out to new residents.

Volunteers Take To The Streets

Members of the Southtown Council and Waldo Area Business Association will be venturing out in teams of two to meet and greet local business owners and managers. These volunteers thank members, encourage new businesses, and listen for issues and concerns that need to be addressed.

Please take time to welcome these volunteers and share your thoughts. Southtown members will be going door to door during the week of April 16 and Waldo Ambassadors the following week.

If you would like to join a team, contact the Southtown Planning Center.

Letter from the President

Matt HeinrichMatt HeinrichWelcome to 2012. As the current board president of the Southtown Council, I am very pleased to serve in our 30th year. I first became involved with Southtown via my role at Rockhurst University and our efforts to craft a new campus master plan. The Southtown Council was instrumental in connecting me with other businesses and associations and was a great help as we navigated the process. This network and interconnectedness remains the strength of Southtown. The organization continues to be a primary platform for information sharing, connecting businesses, customers and institutions and is a tremendous asset for the area.
