City ThriftResourceful shoppers and thrift addicts have a new hotspot to reclaim undervalued objects and get the high that comes only from defying general retail prices. Formally named 2nd Chance, City Thrift, 7740 Wornall Rd, has totally reshaped its building interior and exterior, merchandise displays, and sorting system to create an overall better shopping experience.
Merchandise ranges from the ordinary to the extraordinary. The most recent gem found was an authentic WWI helmet whose inside was used as a soldier’s diary. City Union Mission, who operates City Thrift, teamed up with Thrift Management Specialists to reform, renovate, and reopen all of their Kansas City thrift locations.
The Waldo location is the first to reopen and features a new façade, flooring, fixtures, signage, fresh paint, new shelving, and fun design. City Union Mission spent more than $100,000 to achieve their renovation goals.
Donations are collected on site or home pick-up can be arranged. City Union Mission uses the proceeds to fund their family and men’s shelter, as well as their rehabilitation and vocation programs. Thanks City Thrift for your service to our city, great deals, and for being Waldo’s Best!
